Manual cameras viewfinders

Hello.

I own a P30T that works fine but I'm not completely happy with the viewfinder. I wear glasses and it's difficult for me to see the whole shooting area, especially the shutter speed leds on the left, and I find this annoying. Trying to compensate for this sometimes I even slightly move the camera to the left, but in bright sun light causes reflections. I haven't had the opportunity to test many other non-pro Pentax film cameras and wonder if any of them has an higher eyepoint. Do cameras of each series share the same viewfinder ? Can anyone help rating manual bodies in this respect ? I'm excluding pro cameras, that would probably be an obvious choice, essentially because of availability and cost.

Thanks.

Most viewfinders in the cameras differ slightly. See here for details and to compare the various film bodies: PentaxForums.com - Pentax Camera Reviews - Pentax DSLRs, Film SLRs, and Medium Format

The Pentax MX has the largest viewfinder of any 35mm Pentax. The ME and K series come very close, which are then followed by the Super Program / Super A. After those, the viewfinders started getting smaller.

Since you wear glasses, though, you might be interested in getting a clip-on diopter accessory, or buying a camera with a built-in diopter.

Thanks Adam,
I already started browsing the site's camera database, and your answer is exactly the information I was looking for.

The Nikon F3HP (High Eyepoint) was very popular with eyeglass wearers.
AFAIK no Pentax SLR stock viewfinder provides similar eye relief.
The Pentax LX with FB1/FC1 viewfinder is a costly solution that might work for you.

Instead of wearing your eyglasses you can use a correction eyepiece adapter (diopter).
These are available to fit many Pentax models and are relatively inexpensive.

@ChrisPlatt

yes, I see that the LX + FB1/FC1 would be the definitive solution (maybe at cost of losing one of the better qualities of P30T, that is being light and inconspicuos, but you can't always win )
