I find as digital noise is layed out in a neat grid, rather than the random scatterings of halide crystals, my eye tends tends to pick it up more (possibly because humans just love picking out regular patterns). As it's more orderly, it's also less "natural".

Keep in mind, a neg'll outlast any digital file, I can almost most guarantee. Solid metal on acetate - that's what a true BW neg is.
