Phil.

Eric's work ethic is amazing. I can't even imagine losing a beloved spouse and getting right back to work as he did. Maybe it's a comfort working, at least I hope so, but I can't help but think of him and his loss every time I see his name mentioned on here. It's got to be so rough for him right now and yet he carries on like the pro he is. I admire that, I really do. I don't know that I could do it myself.

Yep very true, it must be hard but working on the cameras must help a bit.

Having lost my dad in January, I can attest that grief is best cut with some purveying of hobbies and going to work.

ya - I am a big fan of the Fuji Neopan 100 Acros in bulk rolls (rebadged as "Legacy Pro" and formally available through Freestyle). I bought a large number of their last shipment. Should keep me going for a decade or more.

Yes, Eric's work is a tremendous asset to the Pentax film user base - and one that cannot be counted on to last forever. Not to be paranoid, but taking a long view...

How does one find Erik?

I am new to this forum. I have a K1000SE that needs the once-over. How do I locate this Erik? Is he in the US?

Eric fixed my dad's (well, it's mine now) K2 electronic shutter after the excellent local repair shop said they couldn't fix it. Win!

Two local camera shops said my dad's ME Super's AE was dead, and he shot it as a manual camera using Sunny 16 for about 15 years before I found out it was just dirty. Sent it to eric...no actual problems, just a CLA set it right

He redid a K1000 I picked up on eBay (super clean, early Japanese unit, but with stuck shutter) and a Pentax-m 35/2.8 with oily blades that I picked up from a member here. His work on both was beyond exceptional his price was very reasonable and he had them done very quickly. There just aren't enough guys like him in this world!

I wanted an ESII and I took a gamble on Eric being able to revive a dead one. He could, he did and I'm happy.

In the UK Robin at Harrow Technical is good too, but he doesn't have a cache of working ES parts.

Eric will be seeing my Spotmatic II. Found out this week that the meter the shutter has a lazy curtain. Not good.

Perhaps I am wrong but I do not think Eric does digital.

The *ist is not a digital camera.

Steve,

Thanks, and here I thought all the ist models were digital. Good to learn something new - the last of the film SLRs from Pentax.
