Many of us here owe a great debt to expert repairman Eric Hendickson, who keeps our Pentax cameras humming along.

Eric has repaired/CLA'ed most of my Pentax cameras past and present, currently including LX, K2, KX, KM and MX bodies.
I'm planning to send him two more recent acquisitions, a DOA MZ-3 and another KX, this one with a shutter problem.

What have you had repaired by Eric Hendrickson?

Chris
Spotmatic II.
Works great!

I don't know if he tinkers with digital cameras but he has my DA40 Limited right now for a cleaning after the aperture blades started sticking.

Good to know he does modern lenses as well. Thanks.

Bonjour,

Question: Does Eric work on gear for persons living outside the US? I'm an American living in France, and I pick up a while back a K1000 that I would like to have CLA'd.

Or ... could someone PM me his telephone number and I will ask myself.

As the French say, Merci d'avance ... J

Yes, as long as you can get the camera to him he will evaluate it, then you choose whether to pay for the repair. The issue for you will be the RT shipping expense.

Here is the Contact information

Let me know if he decides to look at it....the *ist is a bit of a bastard child as far as support goes. If he does, I may send him a broken one of mine, as well. I thought he didn't do Auto-focus Pentax bodies at all!

Eric has CLAed and repaired several items for me:

smc P-K 200mm F2.5
6x7 and 67 cameras - replaced the clutch assemblies!
Removed fungus from a 105mm 67 lens.

I've been extremely pleased with the service.

I've sent him a smc-M Pentax 50mm 1.7 that was out of alignment, an LX with sticky mirror, and an MX with tons of dust in the VF (and somewhat questionable meter / shutter accuracy). All three were returned promptly, fully repaired, for a very reasonable rate.

I could not recommend his work more highly.

We really could do with our own Eric this side of the puddle, for when it all goes Pete Tong.

I just got back an MX and an H3v from Eric. The MX had apparently been previously "worked on" unsuccessfully, and the H3v had a broken shutter curtain streamer, along with being completely jammed up (I got them both from shopgoodwill.com). Eric put them both in first-class condition. Thanks again, Eric!

Eric's given two of my MXs a CLA. He currently has my 67 body in for service (focus issue, gear assembly, and a CLA). He's a great guy!

Just had my MX CLA'd by Eric. I must say his reputation is definitely well earned. Just a few things to note though. He seems to be much more busy than some of the earlier posts from a few years ago. Mine took about 3 weeks to come back with the estimate coming in a few days after he received it. Not really a problem, just an observation. With the condition the camera came back in, he can keep it for a month or two if he needs to. He's definitely the guy to send Pentax stuff to.
