A few years ago I sent Eric a beautiful K28/3.5 that was very soft at infinity. He adjusted the collimation and did a CLA. It is now the sharpest lens I own (pending playing with my new-to-me K30/2.8). Just ask if he has the collimator.

I also sent him a Vivitar Series 1 105/2.5 Macro I had bought NOS/NIB that I sheared off the A locking pin, and an eBay donor Vivitar lens with an identical pin. When it came back I couldn't tell it wasn't brand new.

He even emailed pictures.

He also lubricated and adjusted three Auto-Takumars for a 'K' I had some years ago.
Oh wow..... I'll drop him an email to confirm if he still has and use the collimator. If yes, I'm pretty fixated on sending every single A lenses of mine to him for some lovin'!

Bonjour,

Stalking my French Postman because my MX and Spottie F should be here any day now ... looking forward to seeing these bodies after Eric's TLC ... I think he had some downtime getting my bodies in the (international) mail due to all the bad weather in the States. No problem at all ... they are coming home.

Salut, J

I recently sent Eric my SP500 for a CLA. He was responsive with e-mails and the quote. It seems like the man never sleeps! His name has become legend among the forums. I am looking forward to his service and I will post my experience here when the camera returns.

I have four cameras and a motordrive waiting for me in Ohio, all serviced by Eric. I have to wait a couple of months though until I am next stateside... I'm especially looking forward to trying out the Spotmatic. K.

Eric has been able to repair the 20 or so items I have sent him, everything
but a rare K2DMD motor drive for which parts/spares are just not available.

Eric has repaired to like new condition a similar number of cameras I have sent him over the years, as well as a Vivitar Series 1 105/2.5 Macro that I had sheared off the 'A' locking pin on, and CLA'ed several Auto Tak lenses that went with a 'K' I once owned. Since the 'Great Purge' many of those cameras are owned now by other PF members, and my remaining SV, KX, KX and LX are always perfect when I take them for a walk.

I think the MX is easily the equal or superior of any other 35mm mechanical SLR ever made. There's not a single one I think does a better job of putting a really capable SLR into a small package.

Thanks ... I plan to use them a lot this year. 2014 is going to be my year for film and these are the two main Pentax workhouses for it. And they are keepers, too ... no plans to sell and will stay around a while. J
