P3n: will leaving it on kill the battery?

I recently got a P3n and while I'm still getting used to it, I generally like it.

A couple of times I pulled it out of my bag and started to shoot without remembering to turn the darn thing on.

Since the meter turns itself off after a few seconds of inactivity, is there any downside to leaving it switched on all the time?

Apart from risking that the shutter will fire, nope

Will it kill the batteries? Nope. But, the batteries might "kill" your camera if they got corroded.

Even if there's zero drain (and I'm not certain there is) I suggest you shut it off.
Otherwise anything inside your camera bag that happens to brush against the
soft-touch shutter release will activate the meter and possibly expose a frame.
Once you become familiar with this model the switch is really not a problem.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I have a spare set of batteries in my bag because I just know that I will be forgetting to turn it off regularly.
