Yeah, I think they went a little too far for my taste on that one. I think they could have made it just as "exotic" yet be a camera I'd actually want to shoot outdoors.

You would think that with a price of 2500 Euros they would include free shipping.

In the 1970s and 80s these Gold Editions were fairly common. You'll find golden Contaxes and ofcourse Leicas (not as cheap as the LX, though) and others. Some shops even offered a service to gold plate any camera and lens.

I find the Titanium LX2000 much more attractive, though.: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/de/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/96868-limit...tml#post991808

Yes agreed titanium looks much better and you may actually want to take it outside and use it. The gold LX is strictly for a display cabinet.

Yes, I am sorry. I don't know why. But I searched for the LX2000 via Google. And included the unwanted translation service, when I found the post in our won forum. I have set the forum language to english, but they recognize, that I am located in Germany and thus change parameters - and I have no clue how to prevent that.

Very strange (the "quick reply" not the gold camera... well...). I know Ben's link in his quote is a german-language one (has ../forums/de/.. in it), so if you click it even Blue from Florida writes fairly fluently in German! (No idea, though, since maybe Blue is a polyglot!)

I didn't notice the …/de/… part, but my language selection here in the forum is English, not German. I really have no idea whether Google or whether the forum decides on another language. I hate Google's tools
