Hi Chris, Sorry about my unclear post. No, I wasn't being sarcastic. If I was in a class and a bunch of students had K1000s I'd look for another option too. I just think it's funny I (maybe we) consider Pentax's unpopularity a benefit of ownership. I like it when other photographers start asking me questions.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I ended up passing on it. I may head into Keeble & Shuchat (local store) and browse the used dept. However...and this is very sad...I bought yet another camera. I told myself no more internet purchases but I couldn't pass on this. Found a Zenit 122 with a Helios 44K-4. So I'm super excited. It's coming from Latvia and may take up to a month to get here. We'll see how this turns out.....

Oh yeah and since I'm posting so much, hello everyone, my name is Chris. The avatar is me, taken by my wonderful girlfriend with her 40D and 85 1.8.
Hi Chris,
I hope there was a typo in regards to your Zenit purchase. The Zenit 122 is a M42 screw mount camera and the Helios 44K-4 is a K-mount lens so it is highly unlikely that the lens is attached to the camera In any case, even if it is a M42 Helios, it will be well worth owning.

Ha! I was wrong! There is a K-mount variant of the Zenit 122. The 122K comes with the Helios 44K-4.

Awesome, builttospill. I completely agree.

Yes indeed Steve! 122K. I'm really excited. It shipped out today!
