Looks cool, wish I had the FA43 to go with mine too.
For the paint, I am no expert but I went with a gloss enamel that didn't need priming when used on metal surfaces. I aimed to keep it simple and didn't want the paint to come off. Using gloss paint was maybe not the best idea, as it rather more shiny than the original black trim. I just bought the paint from a hardware store from memory.
Yes, that would be the question, gloss or not. :-)
That FA43 is actually not mine. It belongs to my office colleague. I had it just borrowed. I have another colleague who own Fa77, but he'd rather borrow me his wife than this lens. :-)

Jason, besides the "cosmetic" work, did you had to fix something on the mechanics or electronics?

I'm getting a MX as part of a bid I won at Ebay with several lenses, and it will probably require some repair. If you know of any manuals / tutorials for repairing the MX, or at least disassembling it, I promise giving rep points daily

No, I haven't done anything mechanical to the MX at all. I would love to learn how to service it, but for now it's still in the realm of the professionals. I did change a couple of light seals though.

cheers

Here is the MX's Service Manual. It will take you through very detailed disassembly.

I've had similar idea last year:

It is not done is such perfectionist style, but I like it. The paint job is not a bad idea either. Do you have a recommendation of a specific paint to use?
Where did your leather kit come from? cameraleather.com doesn't claim to support the Super A.

Hi kcobain and welcome
The viewfinder eyecup is the standard one that came on an MZ-50 that I have. I would assume that it is a common part for the MZ/ZX series, perhaps they are available online (I haven't looked for any more as yet.)

cheers,
Jason

I put one from a K100D on a film Pentax ES-II - these eye cups are even more backward compatible than the k lenses

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I just bought an MX from ebay and I'm so excited that I'm going to buy every single accesory that was made for it.

I may be interesting to have this MX checked/serviced. Especially regarding the speed, metering and seals.
