My Fifteen Minutes of Fame

Well, cumulative anyway. This is a photo of the Kodak Jumbotron electronic billboard at Times Square in New York City. The blurry patch to the right of the guy's shoulder is my entry in the Kodak Ektar 100 photo contest (honorable mention). The photo was shown in rotation over a two week period that ended over the weekend. I guess film is not dead if it can still make it to Times Square!

Here is the photo, in case anyone is interested:

Pentax KX, Sigma 50/2.8 EX DG Macro, Kodak Ektar 100

The photo was also supposed to have been in rotation on the Kodak.com Web site, but I have not seen it.

Congrats. It is a very nice picture. I still love the film. Is the Kodak Ektar 100 out of circulation? I may be wrong or I am confusing it for the Kodackrome one.

Nope, it is a relatively new Kodak color negative film with very fine grain and vibrant colors.

Thanks all. I forgot to mention that the contest ended and was judged some time ago, but they finally got around to posting the photos to the Jumbotron a few weeks ago. I got another message from Kodak marketing today indicating that the photo would be rotated onto the Professional Films home page some time maybe in November.

Exceptional Steve. I guess we can call the Jumbotron photo above " A Thrilling Moment in Time"
