Vivitar 28-210 Super Zoom

Hi, I've been shooting today using in part my Vivitar PK-A 28-210 Super Zoom lens with my P30.

Is there any advice regarding what kind of minimum shutter times I should be considering to avoid camera shake?

It's quite a long lens when on telephoto and although I have quite a steady hand I've been using my 50mm a lot lately and basing shutter times on minimum 1/60 sec to avoid shake.

The general rule is that the shutter speed should not be less than the length of the lens.

So at 210mm your speed should not be less than about 1/200th, at 100 not less than about 1/100th.

Put it on a tripod and you can do better than that of course.

Just to add that this calculation works as long as you're using film. On a crop-sensor digital body you'd need to multiply the shutter speed by 1.5 (so 1/200 would become 1/300).
