Anyone calibrate a hand-held meter?

I have a Quantum Calculight XP which is consistently reading a full stop low. At ISO 400, for example, my other meter and various cameras will all give a reading of, say, 500th at f4 but the Quantum will read 500th at f2.8. This happens at all ISO settings. I've tried new batteries and yes I could make a mental compensation, but you know how it is in the heat of the moment - easy to forget or compensate in the wrong direction.
Does anyone know how to calibrate one of these?

Les

Quantum have an online manuals section, however you have to register to access them. I would recommend that you should start there.

their page can be accessed here

are you using the meter as a flash or ambient meter?

I'd expect a handheld to give a different reading then the camera under many conditions. So you're saying if you hold the meter up to, say, a white wall and did the same with the camera and other meters they differ by one stop?

I've calibrated an old GE II meter - it is a simple screw driver job. Are you asking about where on your meter might a calibration control be?

Thanks for the responses, gents. Digitalis, I'm using the Quantum as an ambient meter. And I already have the manual but it doesn't tell me how to calibrate the beast.
Tuco, yes, I've done exactly that and the other meters, including another hand-held, all differ by one stop consistently.
Nesster, yes I'd like to know where the adjustment screw(s) is/are and how to actually do the calibration. I've taken the cover off and inside, sitting on the circuit board, are four small blue rectangular objects, each with a screw sticking out, which I imagine must be the adjusters. I'm nervous about twiddling with them in case I totally wreck the thing.
Any further advice would be much appreciated.
