The MZ-S is regularly going for more than a Nikon F5... it's just amazing to me.

Maybe things will cool down in a few more years. I guess my fear is that this camera will NEVER come down, or will go up in value. Kind of like used Pentax lenses these days...

I like the PZ-1P as I'm most impressed with the way it's literally an extension of your hand. It just has the best grip of any Pentax camera I've ever held. As far as the prices, for the money you'd pay for the MZ-S over and above the PZ-1P, I don't think it's worth the extra dough. I've abused a PZ-1P for a dozen years and the only thing wrong with it is the little spring inside the pop-up flash detached and you have to flip it up manually. This isn't even a handling/age issue. The spring just went.

As far as ebay sellers selling bodies with great feedback, you have to take into consideration that someone could have sold 1000 other things besides camera to get a reputable ebay rating, and they may know nothing about a camera when it's time to sell it. They can say it looks and works new, but the fact that there could be some issues with the camera can go hidden in their feedback. To be 100% safe with second hand cameras on ebay, you have to look for someone with perfect feedback, AND someone who usually sells cameras. This is the safest bet.

I've thought of "flipping" mine many times. Is the value really 8 times more than my Super Program? But it is just such a nice camera, everytime I get it out I decide again to keep it.

Really, why hasn't Pentax re-introduced the sloping top plate?

How a) practical and b) cool-looking is it? Wouldn't it's be an awesome design signature? Like how every damn Nikon's got that red wedge (which always makes me think they've gone emo and started cutting themselves) but practical.
