When I was laid up a few weeks ago due to an accident, I passed some of my idle time by resuming my scanning of old film. I came across an envelope of jumbled, unmounted slides I did not know existed. Most of these are not great photos, but what memories.
In 1978, I spent a month in Spain, where the shutter in my old Vivitar 400-something SL body jammed. I had no idea that I had actually gotten photos back from my former sister-in-law from before the camera failed. Since I just took a trip to Spain this summer, I've had great fun comparing photos from 32 years ago. Some of the subjects could only be found in rejects from my recent trip.
The Alhambra shot was a reject in 2010 because it was a boring tourist snap, but also had the same skewed angle as the shot I took on Agfachrome in 1978.
I stood in almost the same spot and took almost exactly the same bad photo 32 years later--hilarious.
Anyone else come across a film find lately?
Alhambra 1978 (Vivitar 400?SL body, 55mm/1:2 Tak, Agfachrome Slide) Alhambra 2010 (K-x, DA15, from reject folder) Cordoba entrance to Roman Bridge 1978 (Vivitar body, 55mm/1:2 Tak, Agfachrome Slide) Cordoba 2010 now under construction (by my wife with P&S at 5mm ISO 400)
