Yep; Got one too. Picked up K1000 to use in a film course. It's an adult class(I'm 58) and we're having a lot of fun. This one is NEW. Was on a Chicago dealer's shelf because of a light leak. Fixed the leak myself and had it re-timed and calibrated. The 50mm lens still isn't broke in. I'm Chief Engineer of a radio/TV station. The camera is a wonderful ice breaker. There's no pro photographer that will snob me. It always brings a smile. In a room where everyone is shooting either video or digital, its shutter sound really stands out.

I found my old k1000 I tooked that thing all over the world. I put a old 135mm manual lens on it. I am going to keep it in my car. I need to buy a battery and film for it first.

I have two, one my daughter thinks is hers .... OK it's hers now, and one I bought to replace it on e-bay. The one my daughter has was my first SLR high school graduation 1978.

I have two, one regular K1000 and one with a split image viewfinder, both of which work perfectly including the meters. Never use them, but can't seem to bring myself to sell them either.

If I shoot film I use my LX or my MZ-S in 35mm.

I hope to have one VERY soon, hehe. I do have the Ricoh KR-5 that i bought new in 1980. I believe i even have the box somewhere for it. Talk about a tough camera........It has been A: Dropped on a concrete driveway < can no longer thread a filter on the lens >
B: Dropped in a river
C: Soaked in a bag that i THOUGHT was waterproof, and to my dismay, found out it was NOT waterproof. I took the camera out of that bag, it was sitting on the bottom of a fishing boat, and water was pouring out of the camera body, not just a few drops, literally pouring out of it, i figured it was ruined, but when i got home, i took a hair dryer to it, and the lens, and the thing still works like a charm !!!

EDIT: I won an auction on ebay for a K1000, the only reason i bid on it was that it has a 50MM F1.4 lens on it !! And to my surprise, i won it for a total of $70.95. I can't wait to put the lens on my K110D and take some low light shots.

I've got one and the 50 mm lens that came with it. i bought it back in 1989 when I was in high school. My dad taught me to develop and print my own B&W in our basement darkroom, where I spent most of my free time. It still works, but I haven't used it in a number of years.

Got me one too! I still even use it every now and then. Some of the absolute best film images I've taken were taken with that camera...... good times....

K1000 was the first "serious" 35mm I had

Other was Kodak "disc something "

Of course disposable B&W still fun for me

I also have one, use it as second body still, though I seldom use a second 35mm camera. Mine is an SE model, bought for me new when I was 14 by my father.
I much more frequently use the KX, and much more frequently than that the Fuji 645 camera...
