MX Problem - Mirror Stuck

Just dusting off my beloved MX after many years. Worked fine for a bit then the mirror stuck. Can anyone tell me how to fix it or refer me to a repair shop?

The mirror box mechanisms probably just need to be cleaned and relube. The whole assembly has to be extracted and not a job for yourself.

Perhaps it is just a sticky mirror?
The mirror damping (some foam) becomes sticky after 20+ years.
Just remove it (it works without) or replace it.
