I have this camera...

Hey out there! I'm kinda at a lost with this camera...
I found it in the deep dark corner of a closet at my mom and dad's. Its a Pentax MV1?? I have 3 different lenses and a large flash thingy. I LOVE taken pictures and within the next year will hopefully start my own photography studios. So my questions is: Is this camera too out-dated or worth having fixed up. I can post pics of the camera for more info on it. If anyone could help me out on this I would greatly appreciated it!
Thanks Photo-goers!

Here you can find some info on the camera. I think your post is going to be moved to the Pentax Film SLR Discussion soon.

There is a ton of things to consider before opening a studio, so make sure you are ready!

The MV1 is a perfectly decent camera, but it probably lacks the level of control you are going to want in a studio. The lenses on the other hand may be either wonderful or useless. Assuming they fit the MV1 they should work on 95% of the SLRs and 100% of the DSLRs Pentax has made since 1975. That being said, there are many great old lenses, and just as many lemons, so without a list it is hard to say. Also, saying that they work does not mean that mounting a 1980 lens on a DSLR makes it auto focus, or auto anything for that matter.

You might want to try just dropping a fresh battery into that MV1 and running a cheap roll of film through it. It might work fine as-is.

Good luck!
