[Asahiflex]

In the 90's I received this very thick book (~450 pages) from Pentax Japan regarding the 60th anniversary of Pentax. As far as I can see there's a wealth of information in it (unpublished in western languages). Interviews with key persons such as Minoru Suzuki (the designer of the LX), Nobuyuki Yoshida (the designer of the Asahiflex), photos of prototypes etc.

Unfortunately I'm unable to read Japanese. I think it's impossible to have everything translated, but it would be nice if we could at least get an idea of the contents of the book. I would be very grateful if someone could translate the contents, as a starting point for further research.

Google translate does a reasonable job if you can get the text into a readable format rather than a page image. The grammar and word order will likely get scrambled, but I have been able to make sense out of many translated pieces.

I wonder what had they done in that period to deserve a place in history. Pentax produced Superprogram and those unremarkable P series. The only thing was they made a lot of money out of it.
