I love my old pentax stuff!

Haven't had much time lately to get the camera out, but yesterday I decided to take a few shots...nothing special, just around the garden. So I got out my black SP11, & a couple of my lenses, a SMC 85 1.8, & a SMC 17 F4 Fish-eye.
It came to me just how much I enjoy using this stuff....the SP11 is a joy to handle, & the Takumars just feel so solid.....made me feel good just handling them!
A bit silly I suppose....anybody else feel this way?
Cheers, Pickles.

yes, lots of people. this is why ’Takumar’ is just as well known as ‘Leica’, ‘Zeiss’, ‘Voigtlander’, etc. amongst manual lens users, digital and film.

I dearly love my *ist but my SPII still gets as much action as I can afford to give it. A Spottie was my first real SLR and even if I could afford a K5 I'd still keep it and use it. There is something very satisfying about shooting with a vintage camera and lenses. For me being able to use those lenses on a digital body is the best of both worlds but I still wouldn't sacrifice my best film SLR's just because at this point I could get along without them.

Geez Phil, that's a ripper list of lenses you've got there.
My current "list" is (all SMC) 17F4, 35F2, 50 F1.4, 50 Macro, 85 F1.8, 100 Macro, 105 F2.8, 135 F2.5(V2), 200 F4, 85/210 zoom, 300 F4, 400 F5.6.
I've just "procured" another VERY special one.....haven't got it in my possession yet.....I'll announce it, when I have!
Cheers, Pickles.

Thanks Martin!

I think I may have an idea what the ‘Special One” may be! (Hopefully not Jose Mourinho)

Looking forward to some pictures when it arrives!

Phil.

Jose Mourinho “The Special One” is the coach of Real Madrid’s football team. (Ex Inter Milan, Chelsea & FC Porto coach).

You either love him or hate him!

Oh right.....being an old "Pom" (English), I'm an M.U. fan...always great rivals of Real Madrid in the European Cup!
Cheers, Pickles.

I actually prefer my old Taks and film cameras over my DSLR. There's just something about using that old, well-built equipment. It's a "zen" thing

My latest "Tak" has arrived.....from half way around the world.....and I'm thrilled!
It is a lovely M42 Takumar SMC 15mm Aspheric, with caps, case etc, in beautiful condition, so thanks Bjorn for looking after it so well.
Cheers, Pickles.

Congratulations Martin!! I had a feeling you may have gone for the Tak 15/3.5 on the forum! Looks like a beauty and the focal length is perfect on film.

Enjoy and post some pictures when you get a chance!

Thanks Phil.....Yeah the owner was a lovely guy, & over a period of a few weeks, & numerous emails, we eventually did a deal.
The lens is really nice, & appears to have been very well looked after....I will put some pictures up....or rather my wife will, when she gets time....I'm useless at that sort of stuff.
Regards, Martin.
