Good deal or not?

So I've managed to locate the following:

SMC Pentax 30 f2.8
SMC Pentax M 50 f1.4
SMC Pentax 85mm F1.8

All for the low low price of $250!

The catch is the 85mm has a dent on the body that can be felt when focusing, so it will need to be sent for repair.

I emailed Eric and he gave me a rough estimate of how much it'd cost to repair the 85mm. Though I'm sure he can't be certain until he has it in his hands. Price seems good to me (under $50)

So is this a good deal or should I still be looking around???

It's an excellent deal. The 30/2.8 is pretty rare and the 85/1.8 is excellent lens and certainly worth the money to fix it. Either of those two lenses alone is worth the $250 price tag (plus the 50/1.4 is worth about $80-90).

you paid less than what they are worth for re-sale on the open market as a total worth, so yes you got a good deal. quite good indeed.

If you don't want it, I'd be more than happy to buy it right now.

seller said they didn't want to sell again... camera etc had sentimental value.....

Breaks my heart because I figure they'll just sit there in the corner never to be used whereas I would have really used them for good purpose

unless you're into collecting lens I'm not sure if it's worth it.

1) the 50 1.4 tak is about 60-70 ish, i see a few in the MP at the same price, but not sure if the seller already left the building or someone's trying to play a joke, until now I never see them at that price, on ebay they're still going steadily ~100, i've seen some in the 150... which is about right, the tak is an M42 mount, it's essentially a pentax M with an adaptor, the advantage is that all brand except nikon can use them, and the pentax M 50 1.4 is around 100.

2) The 85mm is nice, it's sort of the "essential" lens next to the 50, the only problem is that you're looking at 50 bucks to repair, so we'll just call this a 300 dollars bundle. I for 1 do not care much for the 85 on the crop sensor.

3) The 30 is rare, but unless you're collecting lens, the 35mm is a bit cheaper/faster.. more bang for the buck i would say , or maybe the 28mm...

for 300 you can get alot if you look hard. these are nice lens, but i'm not sure how much use would you get out of them VS just sitting on the shelf

Well a bit of good news (for me anyway).

Managed to win an 85mm f1.9 off ebay for 162 LINK Needs some repair but based off an estimate from Eric should only cost 40 or so to repair and 8 dollars for shipping. So total cost is about 210.

So now I have

- Super Takumar 35mm f2 (this was THE most expensive of all the lenses I got)
- Super Takumar 35m f3.5 (which I'll be selling i suppose)
- Super Takumar 50 f1.4
- Super Takumar 85 f1.9
- Super Takumar 135 f2.5

all M42 mounts. All in 'ok' condition. Far from mint but no mechanical or lens issues (after I finish fixing the 85)

But now I'm contemplating (since it's so cheap) the Super Takumar 200mm f4 .....damn this is like drugs!
