Fixing ZX-5n

Ok, so I have already dismantled the camera and already replaced the motor.
My question is with regards to the mirror.
Does the shutter mirror stay normally in the up position?
Does the mirror have to be down when the new motor is replaced?
When I reassemble with the mirror in the up position, will the mirror stay down once I have replaced the motor and cycled the camera?
Once I'm sure with this, I can finally reassemble the camera.
I don't want to assemble then find out that I have to disassemble again if the mirror has to be in the down postion.
I hope somebody can help!

There are 3 electric contacts on the green gear; the green and yellow are synchronized by line up the holes together (i.e. the relative cam positions on the back sides of these 2 gears). Before closing the gear box cover, mirror is up, diaphragm control slider is at top edge, all the center axles are flash, tighten the 4 screws. I usually rotate the first speed reduction gear for one cycle to make sure the gears operate correctly. After this, you can leave the mirror in any position. After complete assembly, install the batteries, the firm ware will move the mirror to where it should be, you don't even need to turn the switch on.

After the mirror box is in place. Install VF eyepiece and operate panorama switch to make sure it works. This should be done before re-solder the wires.
