Haven't been around much lately, but just had to pop in and share this Craigslist success story - add pops up for a "Pentax SLR" for cheap. I'm squinting at the fuzzy photo, and my heart starts racing - could it be? Could it be?? Shoot off an email, but expecting there will be a bazillion guys ahead of me - nope, get an email back, sure, still have it, come on over...

1 hour later, I'm the happy owner of a fully functional Pentax LX with a nice M50/1.4. Always wanted one, never could justify the price. Looks like the black K2 is now the "backup" camera.

Wow thats cheap. I always look at Craigslist for deals when I know i'm going to be in the Vancouver area myself.

I found a certain website today, never heard of it before but it's been around, and I won't name it because I wish to continue poaching there unhindered. Most stuff I saw there is insanely over-priced, but some is insanely under-priced. So I bought a certain classic German SLR with a certain rather desirable Biotar lens on it, for US$35 + $15 shipping. That's about 1/3 the cheapest eBay price. Heh heh. Y'all may hate me now, go ahead, see if I care.

So, I've got my first roll of Neopan 400 in it, and all I can say is wow. This is what a Pentax body is meant to be. The K2 is a great body, but the LX is sublime. I can remember longing for one back in the day when I got my first Pentax (ME Super) - but all I could afford was $300 at the time. There was a used LX for over $900 at the store.

I couldn't ever justify paying the going rate for one, but man is this thing nice. I can see why guys are willing to drop four bills on one.

1953 Exakta Varex VX with CJZ Biotar 58/2, is all.
Folks over at MFLforums say it has a certain value.

But others will have a chance real soon. I'll list a camera on eBay tonight or tomorrow, a Voigtlander Bessamatic Deluxe with Color-Skopar 50/2.8, all in pretty pristine shape. It should fetch a little more than the five bucks I paid for it, I hope. Damn, that's a heavy booger!
