Ever ready case for MX

Hi there, I'd like to find a nice case for the MX, but it seems that the original ones are rare, expensive and very torn because of the synthetic leather used. I also have a Spotmatic case that is made from very fine leather and has velvet or something inside. I'd like something just as nice for the MX. It doesn't fit in the Spotmatic case - it has the same width but it's shorter, so the film advance lever won't have space to advance. It's funny too to see a small camera in big clothes.
Then there's those third party cases on ebay, you can find them sold by some Korean guys, but I doubt a little bit their quality and that they will be a perfect fit, including the tripod mount.
What would your best buy be?

I'd say if you had an original in bad shape you got cheap you could go to a leather worker and get it repaired.duplicated. Personally i always hated the never ready cases and just carry a smallish shoulder bag with the camera in it (and other paraphernalia), or just go out with it on a strap
I didn't think they were expensive (goodwill usually has scads of them when they have cameras)

this link has a pretty cheap new in old box aftermarket. if it turns out there are things you don't like about it at least it is a template to get a custom one made

I know of that case. Just that I'm asking here so I find the best case in the first place. Do all everready cases have tripod mounts?

I bought one of the Korean cases.
It is a very good copy of the original Pentax case.
Quality of the material, fit and workmanship are excellent.

I have never seen an M series case, Pentax or other brand, with tripod screw.
They all attach at the neckstrap lugs using plastic clips or small straps with snaps.

Care to post some photos of the Korean case? Is it leather? Do they make versions to fit other models as well?

In regards to tripod sockets, the case for my Super Program has none (plastic clips). Neither does the case for my Ricoh XR7. The Spotmatic case I use with my KX has one as do the cases for the Ricoh Singlex TLS and Mamiya 1000 DTL. All of my rangefinder cases have tripod sockets except for one of two I have to fit Kiev 4A .

There are accurate photos of the Korean cases on their eBay auction pages.
They're made of smooth vinyl like the original Pentax M series cases,
but it appears to be of a better grade. Price is only $25-30 postpaid.

Resurrection... Steve or Chris - do you know if these are still around. Nearly bought one 3 years ago but didn't. My current searches have been fruitless.

IIRC mine was Horusbennu brand, but I no longer see them.
Suggest you continue to watch eBay.

You might take a chance on eBay #151821989204:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151821989204
This one claims to fit all the M-series cameras.

May have a line on one from another member. That one-fits-all-M seems hard to believe. In my experience the plentiful ME and program cases dont fit the MX correctly at all. Price is low enough to take a chance but it really does look like $10 quality from the photos.

I posted a link to this one in a thread here in 2014:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280902730356

The eBay seller currently lists some for other brand SLRs.
If you are willing to spend $60+ send seller a message.
