Good stuff! I've got one of these from Jan, 1978. Yours is more interesting as it's all K series stuff!

Thanks, Phil.

Interesting, as there is the price of the 15/3.5
For those who would like to see the price of the Takumar (1967 and 1971), I give them on my site : Index et prix des Takumar - Takumar - The eyes of the Spotmatic

I have another book as well with a bunch of good stuff in it. Here are a few pages of it. I suppose I could scan this entire booklet as a pdf as well.

Okay, I'll scan both of the pamphlets (in their entirety) ASAP--probably within a couple days or so.

Before you go to too much trouble, some stuff is already scanned and available at:
PENTAX MANUALS see the tabs on left (literature). It looks like the K series lenses and accessories book is there, as well as a ton of other stuff.

There is also a link for manuals on the left.

Another source for manuals is... Free camera instruction manuals, camera instructions, free film camera user guide, camera manual, camera instruction manuals,* Canon camera manual, Nikon camera manual, Ricoh camera manuals, Sears Camera Manuals, camera instruction manual, replacemen

Wow I'm just drawling over the 50 f1.2 and 85 f1.8 prices.

Pity modern lenses don't cost the same!

Look at the prices for zoom lenses, I guess back then they were harder to make?

Prices for 50/1.2 and 85/1.8 are really tempting...

A quick inflation calculation showing the price in todays money:

1976 - Ј287.50
2011 - Ј1770.79

Thanks much appreciated! As "myfotoguy" indicated the "Lenses and Accessories" book is available at the Pentax Manuals web site, so maybe just do the Price List as they are quite rare.

The U.S. inflation adjusted cost for these items are roughly 4 times the amount from 1976 to 2010. So that 2000 dollar zoom lens listed for 8 grand then wow lol.

make it relative to earnings. In 1976 I believe the Min Wage locally was $1.65/hr it's now $10.25/hr, so relative to even the lowest income earners wage it is cheaper now. Median income in adjust dollars is actually 20% higher as of 2007
so unless you can go back in time with money earned now and buy.....

based on minimum wages (i worked for minimum wage in 1976) 1.65/hr, now 10.25/hr
So for me at the time it would mean a month of full time wages to buy those lenses (50and 85 1.2)
no direct comparison now but close would be the fa77 which would be about a week pre tax
and you could buy a bigma for lees than a quarter of the adjust price on the 2000 zoom
the real killer is the top KX model, it would sell for 2600 or so in today's dollars
Which is about where a FF k5 would fall.....are you listening Pentax
