Another example of why Memphis is a great town for the arts. ;-) He lives a few miles from me and I know his son and daughter in law. Quite a character as well.

He did. Apparently he's also been seen using Portra 160 or 400 (probably VC). My understanding is he originally used slide film for better colour reproduction, but switched to negatives some time ago for print reasons.

So it is said.

The camera sound certainly doesn't sound like a rf Leica. I couldn't make out the name plate, but it certainly sounds like my LX.

BTW, the clip showed a pic of a Caucasian man in a dark suit, hand in pocket, standing beside a Chevrolet, c 1967 or so. Beside him is an African-American man, dark slacks, white jacket, hand also in pocket.

This is the dustjacket illustration for a marvelous book, There Goes My Everything: White Southerners in the Age of Civil Rights, 1945-1975 by Jason Sokol. For those of us who came of age, especially in the south, during the Civil Rights movement this book is a fascinating review of attitudinal change. When I read the book I was impressed with the cover pic, sensing in a certain resonance of those times. My interpretation was that this was a cultured white man of the times and his chauffeur, perhaps. He probably has a great deal of fondness for the black man, but hardly accepts him as an equal, even though he feels his servant to be, as was said back then, a "credit to his race." Times have changed and for the better.

I don't think it's an LX. We don't get a great look, but the left end of the body seems to be beveled like earlier models, and there is a strap mount in the wrong place for an LX. KX maybe?

Definitely not an LX. I don't know what it is, but like you said, the end isn't the right shape.

It almost looks looks like a K2. If you look at the rewind crank, there is no ISO dial or film type reminder there. K2 and MX are the only bodies that have only the rewind crank there. Also, there appears to be a chrome cap on the film advance lever which means the frame counter is not located on top of the crank.

Great little video and a very inspiring photographer.

Edit: I'm almost certain it's actually an MX.
