A Very Nice Surprise

For a while now I have been wanting to try my hand at film photography. I held off on buying a film SLR since I was planning on experimenting with my dads Olympus OM-1n over summer. When I got home, my dad dug out the camera and then mentioned that he thought he had an old Nikon body somewhere as well. Imagine my surprise when he came back into the house carrying this!

The camera and lens are in great shape (except for a small ding on the outer edge of the lens). He then pulled out a K-series 300mm f/4 that looks like its never been used!

Now I just need to find a local place to buy some film before going on vacation Thursday!

Sweet setup. It all looks like it's in very nice condition, especially the 300/4.

Where abouts in Nor Cal are you.

Try Wal-Mart for film. They sell Fujicolor 200 in a 4pack for around $7 here.
Also, Freestyle Photo online is a great source, especially for B&W. All their Arista brand stuff is great film for a low price.

Thanks! I'm from the Redding area. I figured I'd swing by my local camera store or Walmart tomorrow.

I am indeed very lucky! I picked up some film and a new battery for it so I'm looking forward to playing around with them during my vacation this weekend.

check the various little foam rubber strips before you try using it. they're probably in pretty bad shape at this point.
