Lens Authenticity

Hi All,

In regards to authenticity what lens should I put on an MV, MV1 and MG for display and collection purposes?
My thought is that an M series lens is not appropriate, that is all.

Regards,
Gordon.

Why wouldn't you ? As far as that goes, Why would you not put an M lens on them and shoot a roll or two of film through them

If an M series lens is not appropriate, what is?

Hi All,

Was just a question in view of the fact that there was an auto setting on the shutter speed.
I thought that there may have been a dedicated lens for them.
My apologies.

Regards,
Gordon.

No apologies necessary ! They were good basic cameras back then and still today. Throw an M lens (or any K mount lens with aperture ring) and you are good to go And like I said before, put a roll of film in and give'em a whirl . You'd be surprised at where you will take them that you might not want to risk your everyday camera.

The Auto shutter setting is for aperture priority, you set aperture on the lens and the camera calculates shutter speed.

The A lenses came out for the Program cameras, where e.g. on the ProgramPlus if you set the lens to A aperture you get Program, but if you use an actual aperture on the lens (or use a K or M lens) you get aperture priority.

I think they were commonly sold with the M 50/2.0, sometimes the 40/2.8.
