A little ME spruce up

I know I may get burned at the stake for this, but here's my funky little ME:

Feels nice, it's textured but feels considerably smoother than the original leatherette, whether that's going to lead to me dropping it I don't yet know. Going to stick some film in and take itfor a spin.

It's your camera, do what you want with it. Besides, nobody is going to get upset over a ME. If it was an LX you might have some hate.

why would anyone get angry? the leatherette is easy enough to replace again. although service can be spotty per my experience, cameraleather.com has several styles of vinyl and genuine leather that could easily put any camera back to ‘factory presentation’ so to speak. this isn't really my cup of tea, but I commend you on being a bit different.

ME - great camera, easy to use and the pics turn out great. I've been kicking around the idea of red leather on a Super. Is this your first recover project; is it as easy as they claim?

Dead simple, if you get a pre cut kit it's even easier, peel off, celan up stick on the new.

I would like to see something more individual, more unique get used. maybe a cloth covering or the like. maybe use the same type of fabrics and patterns that get used for custom camera straps. not that id likely use such a camera, but it would be neat to see. could be very appealing to people.

I agree. Something unique like woodgrain laminate would look great!

I can imagine that looking pretty funky on a silver body, I don't think anything but classic black leather works on black bodies though.

I think pure white leather also looks good on a black body, and I've seen red and didn't think it looked too bad either.

Compliments of cameraleather.com

Alan, you did a really nice job with your camera though, especially cutting the material. I like the look.

Puderse, you'll find that's an understatement.
