Can you see a light band on the negs? Perhaps its a scanning issue.
I just checked the negs again and I can't really see anything suspicious there. I found an image were the stripe is more pronounced and I can't find anything. But then again the stripe isn't really strong and I'm not sure if you're able to see it on the negs. Has somebody experienced anything similar?
Cheers,
David

Ok so the stripe is slightly off centre down the entire shot. Turn the neg 180 degrees and put it through the scanner again. If the stripe has moved then its the scanner. If the stripe has not moved then its probably on the neg.

Thanks -- so far so good, it doesn't feel so large in use, actually, except when my eye is trying to find the vf in all that expanse of metal - it's further up and to the left than I'm used to.

Oh - the other thing that I find funny - here's this big slab of camera with a big fat lens, and the shutter sound is a tiny little 'tic'. Very quiet.

Here's three more from the same roll; I have Ektar in the camera now, just trying to get some decent weather and something to shoot.

I also managed to get a Fujinon SW S 65mm f/8 (!!) with finder for an excellent price, hope to have it in my grubby little hands by the weekend. I'm a happy GAS shopper this month

That shot of the "6" sign looks like the rangefinder is accurate. Another thing to check is the DOF scale on the lenses. Through trial-n-error I've concluded my M7II is way too optimistic on DOF range. I focus closer by a 1.5 stop marks when focusing by the DOF scale

Yep, through years of practice I routinely subtract about that with any lens/camera. And if the camera is digital APS-C, then it's even worse - I don't have a rule of thumb there but it is over 2-3 stops easy.

It looks like a sweet camera and you're getting great results with it.

I think it is a characteristic of rangefinder lenses in general.

I just had my first two rolls of B&W developed and I think I'm hooked. Apologize for the picture overload.

These first few were taken with a Minolta Maxxum 5, Arista.EDU Ultra/Fomapan 100, and either a Sigma 28-90 or Minolta AF 50/1.7

These were take with a Ricoh Kr-5 Super II, Arista Premium/Tri-X, and either a Sears 28/2.8 or Rikenon 50/2
