A colleague of mine's dad was a WWII combat photog and he wanted to see what a V700 scan of one of those 1940's B&W film would look like. I was curious too so I scanned at 2400dpi. He said I am free to post the results.

Love these scans of vintage negatives. Thanks to you, your colleague, and his dad for posting this.

Steve

As I am also exploring film images made back in the day and I am quickly finding out that a well made shot on film can come out very nicely today!

That would be a treat to scan one of that vintage.

Those are looking good. So how do the negatives look? I mean, does it look like the lab is pulling the development okay?

Brass 1898 TTH Cooke on a RB Graflex 2x3, HP5+ -- I'm pretty amazed with this lens, though you have to stop down to f/22 to start getting modern sharpness

Same lens, at maybe f/11

1915-16 TTH Cooke in a No 1 Autographic Kodak Model A, Ultrafine Extreme 400 film

In case anyone missed it in the other thread - yep, the lab is pulling them fine. They use Fuji Negastar in a short-leader minilab (never heard of it!).

Here are a few shots from my first roll of Neopan 400. I have one other but now it's been discontinued I won't be buying more.
