Is a final wash in distilled water the best bet?
I make up my Photoflo in DI water and despite having done the wash in fairly hard water, I generally am spot free.

Thanks! Like your third shot too.

Marks on negatives - I was having problems too, but now I use Ilfosol in the final wash (Ilford's equivalent of photo flo.) Then snap the negative, and wet my hands thoroughly before using my fingers to squeegee off remaining water. Not too many problems now, but I would like to get my hands on some distilled water to be sure.

Great juxtaposition as I was Sunday morning reflecting on finding God and quitting booze years ago. Both seem a little under-exposed to me. And both seem over-rated too but forgive my digression.
