I think this was shot with a Canonet 28 (but could very well be one of my Pentax SLR cameras, really can't remember)

I was just drinking coffee and looking out at the rain. For some reason I was reminded of my accustomed winter weather for may years. This one is from 1984. Looks like about -40. XP1, probably shot with a Vivitar 70-150 I used to own. This is the main drag in Yellowkinfe, Northwest Territories with downtown up the hill in the distance.

That is a great shot, the picture captures the cold like color could never approach.

It does capture the essence of cold. Didn't you post a awesome early morning color shot of people and dog sleds a year or two ago dated around the same time?

It looks fun to shoot that. You can really create some neat effects. For years I have wrestled with the idea of getting that lens. I just never seemed to do it. If you keep posting these, you're gonna make me get off the fence.

Thanks guys!

Yes it is fun to use and easier to use than the K17/4 version. That lens is very small and I’m constantly getting my fingers included in the picture. You have to hold your camera in a certain way to avoid it. The 6x7 35mm is much bigger so you don’t have that problem.

I also debated about getting the 6x7 35/4.5 or the 45/4. The 35/4.5 won because it has the widest the FL and built-in filters. I did not want to have to buy a new set of b&w filters in 82mm.

Yeah, getting colored and thick density ND filters in 82mm isn't easy. The 75mm/4.5 is also 82mm. I don't know why the lens designers didn't try harder to standardize a filter size. I typically carry 3 lenses when I go out for general shooting. A wide, normal and mild telephoto. That could be the 45mm 90 or 105mm and a 165mm (which was a LS lens in my case prior to getting the f2.8 not long ago). That would be 3 filter sizes. 82, 77 and 67mm. So often the 45mm stays at home and I take the 55mm just to eliminate that 82mm filter size

Stepper rings suck when you want to use lens hoods which I do. My Hassy system is more reasonable in that regard. They made all their lenses one filter size except for the extreme ends of the lens lineup (eg really wide and really long).
