I purchased an old, beat up k1000 for doing star trails (my spotmatic is too dear to leave out in the elements!) First roll of film developed, turned out quite well!

Finally got around to scanning more from a roll of Ilford Delta 100. I shot in march.

The DMD saga continues....this time in B&W with Neopan 400 C-41...this is the first time I use it and I find a little difficult to control its contrast especially with a yellow or green yellow filter.

I remember an old photographer told me the greatest challenge is to take a pic of a white object on a dark background. It's true but I tried to do my best

Here are some street shots from around Madrid. These are from the test roll through my only viewfinder (guess-focus) 35mm camera - a Kodak Retinette 1B I picked up a year ago. It's a beautiful little machine, though the light meter doesn't work properly and having to guess focus is off-putting (though I'm used to it from my Nettar folders). I have to say I like the results though.

These Retinettes are underrated. They are beautifully made and easy to use, 1-2-3, Focus, speed, aperture - shoot. Once you practice sunny 16 and distance estimating, you can concentrate on the picture rather than fiddle with settings. That German triplet is sharp as you can see from your pictures.

This is one of my first "serious" shots I've taken 1 year and half ago more or less when I joined this board, it's a little bit awkward to see these old pics, they don't look that great.

I used a mediocre lens, a M40-80 standard zoom with macro and I think it's probably my first macro attempt. K1000 and BW400CN.

Robbotron, here is a star trail photo from the southern hemisphere. The trees are eucalypts. The light flash entered the canister as I was taking it out of the camera.
Taken with my K1000, K24mm f2.8 lens, 18 mins at f2.8. Ilford FP4+ film.

Bobbotron, sorry. My mistake.

Lately, I've noticed that my film shots have been coming out quite overexposed. I have tried long exposure shots using a 90mm lens set at f11 for 15 and 20 minutes pointed at the night sky, and the developed shots came out with the sky almost like daylight. I was using ACROS100. Any clues that you guys may share?

Vinceloc, I don't know which camera you were using, but I have just been reading Ken Rockwell's review of the K1000. (Pentax K1000 (1976-1997)). Towards the bottom of the page he describes testing the exposure of your camera because he says they are all different. He says to use a higher ASA number if your photos are too light. I was surprised that the photo above was so bright but I'm only in the early stages of experimenting. Not sure if that is any help.

Nice photo John, great to see someone else doing star trails. Mine was with Ilford XP2 (400 ISO), F8, 13 minute exposure. I'm hoping to post more in a while once I get finish up a roll of Kentmere 100.

Shot a roll of Kodak T-Max and totally botched the development. So I ended up with 5 usable frames. Should of read more about the film before I did my first roll.
