D76 one shot mini-mix

I have done this several times now, and it works just fine for me.
YMMV

I worked in a factory producing dietary supplements. I know exactly how these chemicals are mixed and bagged. They do not mix ingredients for each bag, they bulk mix about 400 lbs or more, and then they volume drop that into each bag. I KNOW that is how it is done.

With that knowledge I also know there is NO reason that the final consumer cannot do just that as well. Measure out a volume of mixed powder and then mix it with water to make the developing solution.

It works fine, and there is no reasonable argument about NOT doing that if you want to. None.

With that said, one tablespoon of D76 powder will make 300 ml of stock solution and if you use 600 ml of water, you get a 1+1 one shot solution. Enough to do one 120 film or two 135 films.

I have two films in my Paterson tank at the moment, and I am about to process them as I type this.

I have already done this same thing 3 times with great results from a 1 litre bag. I expect great results from this one as well.

I just bought a gallon bag, and expect it to be the same usage.

Sample shot:

Kentmere 400 in HC110. Dilution B for 8 min seems to work, same as the box instructions for LC29 1+19

Some kentmere 400.

I'm really not sure why I took this photo, it may have even been by accident. I'm normally not one for street photography, but I really like it.

Old Ottawa train station - the exterior brick has been torn off the one side, it's in the stages of repair.

I recently rcvd my Olumpus 35 RC. Ran a roll of Tri-X and souped it in D-76 1+1.
Rally liking this camera, and expect the roll of color 400 to be just as nice!

A few shots from first roll of B&W

Cool! Looks great, I would love to own one of those cameras some day, seems like a great little rangefinder.

45 Mike, I picked up an Olympus 35RC a few months ago. It has a pretty sharp lens for an old rangefinder. Takes a little getting used to remembering that the on and Off is part of the aperture ring and that if you put it on "A" the shutter won't fire unless there is enough light. It's a pretty pocketable as old film camera's go. It's only slghtly taller than an Olympus PEN half frame and a lot smaller than a Yashica GSN. And.. I don't know why we are talking about it in a string for SLR Pentax images......but... if it isn't against the rules I don't mind showing a few snaps and agreeing with you that it is a fun little camera that can be bought for about as much as a meal at a fast food joint.

Oh no.... looks like I scanned the first photo from the wrong side...oops.
