Red flowers just seem to justify the existence of silver halide photography.

Nice, Chris. Yeah, red and green reproduce with a similar tone in BW.

I'll re-post this 2012 shot of a bright red Halloween costume using a yellow-green filter. The filter darkens red a bit and is worth experimenting with anyway

Here are some shots from the test roll through a Yashica Electro AX that I picked up a few months ago. It's an interesting camera - M42 mount but the lens is stopped down to allow full-time metering. To open the aperture fully for more accurate focusing, you need to press a button. It's the opposite of a DoF preview - you press a button to see with the lens wide open. The metering on mine doesn't work though despite this the camera still needs batteries as the shutter is electronic and without power defaults to 1/1000s. For someone like me who likes to shoot a lot around f/2.8 it's actually not a bad system as at that aperture there's still enough light to focus properly.

I only bought the camera because it came with a Yashinon DS-M 50mm f/1.4 and cost €25 and in my book any (good condition) camera with a 50/1.4 at €25 is a bargain. The camera and the lens both handle very well and are a pleasure to use. Typical of Yashica cameras, the viewfinder has a strong blue/green cast (I've no idea why).

These shots were all taken with the 50mm, the first shot is probably wide open. These are all Fuji Acros.

Really nice Chris.

For a Labor Day weekend we're getting rain and some ugly mornings turning into nice afternoons. Good time to give FP4+ a try with stand development in Rodinal at 1:100. Window light and a reflector.

It is an illusion that there are any more colours in it than just blue.

But a very effective one. It looks exactly like washed-out colour from an earlier era. Vancouver, by any chance?

Superimpose enough colour casts, and what you get is... colour!

I'm going to have to wash and dry this one again as there are some goopy drying marks visible in the sky.
