I have some RPX 25 in sheet film that I can't really use with my mod45 tanks, the base on it is so flimsy.
I've had it in the archival sleeves under the weight of a big, heavy book for a week in an effort to get it flat. The film is just too thin with, apparently, an inherent ability to want to curl. The curl is so strong the archival sheet curls up too when it's stuffed with the film.

I use to have a glass carrier that could handle curly film but it's too scratched up to use these days and it's no longer manufactured so I have to use the "open" carrier option the scanner has. The film would work well with a drum type carrier because it would naturally want to wrap around it.

Yeah, I gotta do something. I'd rather have no glass ( fewer surfaces to clean and collect dust) and work on improving the current open carrier.

Anyway, here are a few more shots from my first roll of Retro 80S while out hiking on the Oregon Sand Dunes. I do need to tweak my developing after seeing this roll.

These have a nice tonal range on my display, though the second shot appears to have blocked shadows -- what will you try for tweaks, and why? (this is for my own education, as I see myself essaying home developing in the near -ish future)

Thanks. You said it. It has poor tonal scale in the shadows. They just fall off ( scanners add to that problem when they reach their limit). It shows a lot of "push processing" characteristics. I got the development time from the massive dev chart for my pyro developer. I will reduce the agitation profile ( that can speed up or slow down film) and add a little more time so the shadows can develop more and see how that turns out. I used the Sunny 16 rule for exposure but I'll start metering with a one-degree until I get more experience with the film.

In my opinion, you're far better off to embrace (non) range of Retro 80s than try to make it do something it doesn't want to. That hard shadow look can be pretty awesome.

This is a photo I took back in 2010, not long after first getting my Pentax 67. I think it was the 3rd roll of film I put through the camera. Yesterday I was looking at the original scan I had done, and the scan wasn't very good so I decided to rescan the negative.

That's a fantastic shot, it conveys a lot of emotion.

I screwed up by not advancing the film to the line before I closed the door. So the nice shot of the Barn that I was going to Print for Dad to hang in his office, is only half a frame, opps!
I also have to remember not to advance the film before I am ready to shoot, its too easy to waste a shot bumping the shutter release otherwise!

This roll and the test roll from my recently aquired Maxxum 9000 were also the first that I scanned myself.

The Camera shop in Ft. Wayne is a bad place for me to go while suffering from G.A.S. $40 for the Yasicha-Mat and about the same for the Minolta a couple weeks earlier.
If I ever walk in there and they have an LX, K2 or KM i am in trouble
