Nice! Isn't D76 one of those developers where people used to keep some of the old 'brown' to add to a fresh batch to transfer the magic?

I've been using D76 for 35 years and I've never heard of this. But I do find it interesting. Sorta like sourdough bread starter. Heh. There's a bakery up in San Francisco that has a batch of sourdough starter that's been in continuous "service" since 1849. See more here:

Our Story - Boudin Bakery

It would be interesting to try and do this with developer, and see just what sort of difference it makes.

I picked up recently a really nice Minolta Dynax 5 and Sigma 18/3.5 AF super cheap at my thrift shop (4€ for the SLR with a cheap Minolta zoom attached and 2€ for the Sigma) ... so I threw in a roll of Kodak UltraMax 400 that was gifted to me to see if all works AOK.

All home developed in Ilfotech (1+29) for about 15 minutes ... a nicer roll of real B&W film will go next into this combo ... first three images are of Saint Pierre Cathedral and the last two are of Montierneuf Abbey ... both in Poitiers.

Wow. This looks like a fun lens and for that price more than worth it. Really like the shots from inside the cathedral. Are these wide open? I have been looking for a real ultra wide K-mount lens for my film cameras lately (preferably MF as I don't really use AF-bodies) and it's really hard to find a bargain. Never heard of the Sigma so I guess I'll have to dig in and see if there's a non-AF version of it in K-mount. I have a Zenitar Fisheye, but I really would like to have something more rectangular. Distortion on the Sigma doesn't look too bad.

Does anyone have any recommendations on ultra-wide lenses that often get overlooked?

Wonderful shot, on a timer? It would be nice if you can make a final recommendation on what to use when developing XP2 at your paper. Most of the photos look fine, but I would like to try developing a Portra 160 with HC-110, or Rodinal. Have you done it?
