I actually like the fence in the shot, adds a "cowboy western" feel to the shot.

Phil.
Thanks

A shot from 2011 that I developed and scanned recently. Expired Tri-X with a lot of grain. I wish that I didn't get the fence in the shot though

I think that the gritty reality of the farm fence is what gives the atmospherics of the upper part of the image a foothold in my viewer's world.

I did my first 16x20 (ish) dark room print last night!

Here's an old scan of the image, from a Yashica Mat 124. I got the contrast / exposure better in the print.

The print looks pretty good even in a second generation.

I need to go use mine. It isn’t as sharp as the Rollei, but it’s always made great prints...

The frame lines in the viewfinder helped immensely in getting this one straight, though it did need a bit of cropping to keep it centered.

Decided to try some stand-development with this roll. Still using a 1:50 dilution, but I feel it turned out pretty well.

Thanks! It's been fun, I'm revisiting old negatives, making prints from my favourites. This is a fun way to pass the winter months!

Great to see Koni-Omega Rapid shots getting posted. I need to take my Rapid M out again. Here's one of my favorite shots taken with it, using the normal 90mm lens and XP2. I believe I previously posted it.

Local shop got in some of the new ReraPan 400 and I was more than willing to give it a shot. A few thoughts:
  • It's generally assumed that it's not a new film stock, but rather an already existing one that's being recut & spooled for 127. That said, I've got no idea what it might. Dev times at 68F/20C are 8:00 for D-76 stock & 16:30 for Rodinal 1:50, which don't match up with anything I've spotted on the massive dev chart.
  • If you were previously shooting Bluefire Murano, don't use the spools from them for take-up. ReraPan is just a tiny bit wider than Bluefire and it won't fit onto their spools. Thankfully I had a few old Kodak ones kicking around.
  • The backing paper on ReraPan is much better than Bluefire's plastic backing. No light leaks around the edges of the frame on this, which was something I had on all of my Bluefire shots
It needed a bit more DoF in this shot, but it gives a good idea of what to expect from the film when dev'd in Rodinal.

Cool! How are you doing your scans?

That was scanned on a flatbed. I'm not really sure of any other way of doing 127, though I'm certain someone has come up with one by now.

Do you have a negative carrier or just flat on the glass? I bought a 3D-printed insert to be used with the Epson V700 120 carrier, but it is pretty bogus. It I could find a source for 127 super-slide mounts, I might go that direction and scan from the V700 slide carrier (size is the same as a 35mm slide). Betterscanning.com is accepting suggestions for custom holders. I put a vote in for 127 and perhaps you might too.
