I did give a few rolls away to one member here on PF. I dunno. When I go out to take pictures, I just reach for my medium format gear. If I need the convenience of a smaller camera, I reach for my digital it seems. But I shouldn't let it go to waste. I should at least sell it. Same with my 320TPX stash in 120 roll. I don't shoot that film for some reason.

It you decide to sell the remainder, drop that other member a line.

Superb light and a great shot.

Why not just shoot it? Or alternatively even a partially used roll would probably fetch some cash that could be redirected to other things. I had a quick look online and there's someone selling rolls of 120 for $25 USD each 😲

On the topic of slow films, I bought 5 rolls of Rollei RPX25 recently so look forward to trying it out. Hopefully no quality issues and no spotting.
I have a roll or two of this in 120 I need to test out, hopefully in the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see how you get on with it.

I suspect your Panatomic X will be fine at box speed. Several years ago, I finally finished up a brick of Plus-X that expired in 1983 that I'd had kept in my freezer for 25+ years. And the guy I bought it from said he'd stored it in his freezer since it had expired. I dunno why it took me so long, probably because I don't shoot that much B&W. With my Plus X I was shooting at box speed and then developing normally in D-76, but I found the negs were thin. So what I did was increase developing time by a minute, and that gave me much better negative density. I suppose I could have reduced the ISO value by a stop or so and it would have amounted to the same thing, In your case, though, it sounds like you can just shoot your Panatomic X at box speed and develop it normally. So all I'm getting at really is it seems that B&W really keeps its integrity very well even after years of storage.

Most of this roll came out very dull. Probably a combination of a poor EI on my part & some very flat lighting on most of the days I was shooting it. However this one, where I was guessing at the exposure as I was shooting directly into the sun, turned out exactly as I hoped.

I'm guessing, based on the slightest bit of blur you can see near the feet/legs, that this was probably 1/50 and stopped down fairly heavily.

Yashicaflex A.
Yashimar 80mm f3.5
Fortepan 200 in Rodinal 1:50 for 13 minutes.

Yep, I was quite pleasantly surprised by how usable the Panatomic-X is. It makes me want to look for other expired low speed B&W film stock however what I've seen is that most places online that do have anything interesting charge a real premium for it. So it's not worth bothering

If you didn't tell us that most of the roll wasn't any good then we'd never know! This shot looks great.

I'm digging that picture. Looking into the sun like that I'd guess a Sunny 16 exposure would place that man at Zone 2.

Thanks. I may still try to salvage one or two of the others, but they definitely didn't leap out at me as soon as I saw the scans like this one did.

Maybe? I'm no good with the zone system, despite owning more than one copy of White's Zone System Manual.

I understand the zone system well enough to know I can't be bothered.

Is that Fortepan a long toe "street film"?
