A moody indoor shot. Didn't quite nail the focus, but I liked it more than the one where I did.

One from last year. I'd have preferred the drummer to be nearer to the left edge of the frame, but you take what you get.

Tell me more...

(In seriousness: I tried cropping, but I found it cramped & unbalanced at the end. But then, I rarely am satisfied so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Yeah, more rowers in the scene would make it more about the team and their struggle augmented by the right-to-left movement. As it stands now the emphasis is on one person of the team.

Personally, I'd crop out the "2" because it totally dominates the picture and made me think that everything was stationary until I looked elsewhere.*

The result might be a little unbalanced and cramped but that's actually good! A lack of balance foreshadows future motion and cramping helps convey the packed intensity of the event. Balance and spread-out compositions are for more serene subject matter. A bit of confusing clutter can add to the sense of activity.

*Note: One huge challenge for photographers is to forget what they know about the scene and look at the image with fresh/ignorant eyes. You know this is an image from a boat race, but your viewers do not. I had no clue this was a boat race when I first looked at it. I saw the huge white "2" first and it looked stationary. The wall of the boat looked stationary like maybe this was a picture of a boat dock or floating walkway with the waves hitting it. Then I saw the seated woman & drum -- maybe she was sitting on dock playing for people. Then I saw the rowers digging into the water and realized what was happening. Thus, that "2" really mislead me.

When you cropped it, did you keep the aspect ratio?

I think I'd like it more if the AR was changed as part of the crop...

Lose the "2", but keep the full height of the photo...

Giving it a try, because why not, and discovered that I already had cropped it down some. Expanding the frame upwards while shrinking it on the left edge helps with the cramped feeling.

My last two posts of RPX 25 in sheet film had some black specs (as a positive image) on them. Not many fortunately and small enough to be like dust.

Oh even in sheet film? damn.
Based on appearance I have assumed these are backing paper marks. I've never shot anything larger than 120, is there a similar kind of paper backing in sheet film? Or am I perhaps assuming incorrectly?

There are a lot of black specks on the images from my roll. A friend had similar on a roll that I gave to him. At small sizes it's OK but anything larger it's very obvious. Too many to clean up like I would for dust

I had a trip out into the Wide, Wide World for the first time since i came home from Hospital 2 weeks ago -- we went to Central Park CHELMSFORD Essex for a 'Family Socially Distanced' Picnic -- I took my Asahi Pentax LX with the 'Sticky Mirror Syndrome' which I have not used for a long time, loaded with 1997 dated Kodak High Speed Infra-Red Film found in my Freezer . I used 2 lenses. SMC Pentax-A 24mm f2.8 and SMC Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 and a 25A RED Filter. I had done a short length TEST in the garden before going to Chelmsford. I corrected the exposure and increased Development time . I used my Home-Made FX-15 ( Acutol-S Formula) 1+1 for 14 mins @ 20oC
