Do you mean APX100 and 400? Do you have a source for that info?
Just buy a roll of each, shoot and develop the same way, you will see, no difference.

Quite possibly, but doesn’t answer the question. Do you have a source for them being the same film, or is this just interwebs folklore?

This is what Wikipedia has to say about Agfa:

QuoteQuote:
Because Agfa-Gevaert still produce photographic films for the aerial photography market, it is still possible to buy fresh, Agfa-produced photographic films for use in consumer cameras. They are sold by the Lomography Society and Rollei and are branded accordingly. This is because those companies purchase the aerial photography film from Agfa-Gevaert, and then cut and package it into consumer photographic formats.

As of 2012, such products carry a small Agfa logo discreetly on their packaging, but are not sold as Agfa branded products.

By contrast, Agfaphoto branded photographic films are not made by Agfa-Gevaert at all, originally having been made by the now closed Ferrania plant in Italy. Agfaphoto films are now produced by Fujifilm in Japan for Lupus Imaging Media.

This wiki article is quite outdated...

The Fujifilm-produced films with Agfa branding were CT Precisa 100 (Provia 100F) and Vista Plus 200 (Superia 200?). Neither of these is available anymore (although Provia 100F is still there).

As for Agfa APX 100/400 being rebrands of Kentmere. There is no official info I could find about it. One of the forum members of photrio (former APUG) claims that he has info from an Ilford/Harman employee, who said that APX emulsions are made by them, but are not straight rebrands. Most film users claim these are Kentmere because of the same recommended developing times in every developer and results they get.

As for Rollei RPX. 100 and 400 are made by Harman/Ilford; 100 is suspected of being Kentmere (nothing official, like in APX 100 case), 400 is pretty soft and generally low contrast (so probably not a rebrand, but a custom thing, since Ilford doesn't market anything like that themselves), 25 is probably one of the Agfa-Gevaert made Aviphot aerial films, but who knows which one exactly.

There are speculations that following Brexit, Ilford-made Agfa and Rollei branded films will be replaced by something made by either Adox or Ferrania, but those are just rumors.

That's interesting, thanks! I had been unable to follow up with the Wikipedia info, I'm not surprised that it's out of date. I wouldn't be too troubled if Ilford/Harman makes APX though, because there are several film stocks being produced by popular film manufacturers for smaller brands that are still unique recipes. I wonder if Agfa still makes Lomography films? I'd be interested to know who is producing their films, their color emulsions are supposed to be pretty good.

Have you considered trying to contact Harman for some confirmation? No offense, but your anecdotal test is the interweb to the rest of us...

I think Ferrania are struggling to produce their own film. I can't find anyone with any stock of their P30 b&w film. I can't see how they can survive. They only make one film and they have always struggled to produce any quantity of it.
