This spot reminded me of Italy, and I wanted to see if I could capture the bright subject, the vespa, and the dark alley. To me, the inexpensive film did a pretty nice job. Thoughts?

Yep looks good, as well as the previous boat picture. The boat/rope is a great shot!

A bit of fun with some Tmax 100 that expired in 1990. Spotmatic, 55mm f1.8

Thank you Gofour3! I am not sure my K10d would have done as well without a lot of work in post processing. Film, even inexpensive film, surprises me in its ability to capture both highlights and shadows without too much of either.

Nice wedding shot Montman, and that expired Tmax looks great. I was gifted several rolls of expired Kodak 320TXP that am looking forward to shooting.

Looks good.

Highlight compression. Over expose and under develop your film will bring in more highlight detail when normal exposure/developing is not enough for the scene which is the old saying meter for the shadows and develop for the highlights.

I employ that technique often but it is much easier when you use something like a one-degree spot meter and only have 10 or 12 frames on a roll instead of 36 since you have to devote the entire roll to that technique. That's one reason why I use a Hassy 500C/M ( hot swapping backs).

Thank you for the advice. I am still learning about film, and you guys have been very helpful.

Here is another of a familiar subject shot with a different camera and film.
