Great looking shots Tuco. Did you bracket the second shot or were you good enough to get it right first time
Thanks. I use a one-degree spot meter. It seems to given me pretty predictable results most of the time. When I have some uncertainty, I'll bracket.

These were taken with a 1937 Voigtlander Bessa 6x9 RF with 3.5/105 Skopar lens.
All three developed with Thornton's 2-bath homebrew:

1 and 3 are TMAX 400, the 2nd is Delta 100

I have the Pentax Spotmeter V and it works well, there is also a Pentax Digital version.

Yes, the darn things still cost too much. I'd recommend the Pentax Digital Spotmeter for its nice small size but it can be a significant purchase. And really the only thing that seems digital about it is the lights in the display; otherwise, its use is like the older analogue Spotmeter V which I also have. It's cheaper and like it too but it doesn't fit in a pocket very well.

Using one also requires time learning to get predicable results. Shooting with only a few film brands helps. Record some of your metering and eventually you'll know where all black and lost highlights fall relative to your selected middle gray to a good enough accuracy.

It can also be taken to the next level by reading the density of areas on the negative with a densitometer and strive for a 1/3 stop accuracy with your work but with scanning you don't need to be that accurate, I feel.

Those older rangefinders are not only fun to shoot, they yield most excellent results as you and Nestter demonstrate.

Tuco, thanks for the kind words. I like Thornton's with T-grain films shot at box
speed:

TMAX 400, 5+5 @20C

This is with a Mamiyaflex C2 and old chrome 3.5/105 Sekor lens, not in the same
league as your Hassy, but gives usable results.

B&W Love it !!

Here is one of my favorites. 4x5 negative. An old burned out building that was full of good images.

In spite of doing a lot of infrared work with digital (converted and unconverted Pentaxes) I haven't managed to really capture the look of IR film. These were on a Minolta X700 with a 24mm Rokkor and a Wratten 25 filter, on the now-discontinued Kodak High Speed Infrared film (HIE).

Hereīs a shot with Pentax P30 and DA10-17 @17mm.

The shot was taken originally to fujifilm superia, but converted to B&W in Lightroom because it didnīt really work in colour...
