Nice shots Colton & Tuco!

Sticking with the 67, here are a few test shots using a hand held meter for the first time (Gossen) and my new non metered prism. (I also picked up the folding waist level finder.)

False Creek: 67 and 200/4 Kodak T-Max 400 Orange filter.

I'd love one of those 6*7 cameras. There's a shop in Madrid that has quite a few (even new in box), but they're very expensive here (like all camera gear).

The other day I picked up a blue filter because I found it very cheap. I know it's little used in B&W photography, so I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions of when it might come in handy?

The blue filter could be a colour conversion filter used to adjust indoor lighting to the correct colour temperature of daylight film. There should be a KBXX or 80X marking on the filter to indicate which conversion filter type it is.

New in a box? That's interesting.

Colored filters will darken their opposite color and lighten its color. Blue should darken shades of orange in various degrees. So a situation where you want to alter those tones. Not many want to make their blue sky white, however.

Blue would be useful to simulate the old "orthochromatic" films that were insensitive to red. That's why in old (1920s) movies a woman's makeup looked so dark on-screen. (This resulted in a fad for very dark makeup, so women could look like their favorite stars did in the movies, even though they didn't look like that in person!)

Ahh, I'd assumed it was a B&W filter but it's not, it's a C8 for balancing daylight film with a flash to prevent the picture coming out blue. Not much good at the moment though, maybe later if I start using flash with film. I have a couple of 200T flashes, I need to look into how to use them with film.

The new-in-box stuff is due to the high prices here in Spain. I'd love a new-in-box MZ-5N, but whatever price they were new back in the day, they will still be that price now, with inflation. Discounting stock to sell it when it's no longer in demand is not a concept that exists in Spain.

Is it possible that it's an 80C filter? That's used for increaseing the colour temperature of daylight film from 3800°K to 5500°K for the use of clear flash bulbs. Regular flash units are the correct colour temperature for daylight film. Pentax used to make a flash filter.

If it's some degree of blue, it should still do its thing on BW film by blocking out some of the shorter wavelengths. I suspected it was a color correction filter since blue for the purpose of BW film probably would not sell very well.
