Tuco, Phil, and Henk thanks a lot! I really enjoy film and the 6x7 format!

I just purchased a Pentax 6x7 with TTL prism and 105/2.4 for a song. It´s very different beast from the Bronica. The build quality is absolutely stunning. Wish all cameras were built like this. In the future I´ll keep my Bronica for tripod work and use the pentax for hand held shooting.

hahaha.....that's the other way arround if you ask me

Normally you should use the Bronica handheld and the 6x7 with the tripod.
I don't have a steady hand, so I use my 67 almost all the time on an tripod.

Yes, but I only have the waist level finder and no grip for the Bronica. I like how I can hold and operate the Pentax 6x7 like any other SLR. There´s also the lack of fast lenses on the Bronica system that limits it´s use. The Bronica is very nice camera and the leaf shutter lenses make it quite ideal to use with strobes.

I only have one data point but.... I mounted my M* 300mm on a sturdy tripod and put a mono pod under the body of the Pentax 6x7 as well. I shot an ISO 12233 test chart at various shutter speeds. I used the 300mm because I figured it would be the most sensitive to vibration of my lens choices.

Shutter speeds between 1/60 and 1/15 (lowest I went) were not as sharp. This was a test without MLU. This might suggest to keep your shutter speeds either long or decently short. Leaf shutter cameras don't have this issue. Supporting once again the notion that with all the various MF film cameras out there each has some strong point at the expense of something else it seems.

Very interesting test. I have not developed any rolls from the Pentax yet, but I am aware of the massive mirror movements. Pressing the shutter makes impressive Ka-Chunk! that makes people around you run for cover.

So far I have kept the 1/60 as the lowest limit. Will have to see how the results look like after I get them developed.

Thanks Paul ...its that 100/2.8 again

Out of all my lenses ...Leica included....it my most used lens .
I love the way it renders BW and for the horsey stuff its a very practical focal length.
Cost me $190 a few years ago.
