I've finally finished the last of my four rolls of HP5+ that I got when I first started using film in early 2012. I don't think I'll be buying any more, I feel that T-Max and Tri-X are far better. I still need to try Delta 400 though. These were taken with an ME Super.

Light leaks, still fighting light leaks

Last shot on the roll, notice the advance knob leak is gone. I think , whatever, I don't care, I am going to use a felt washer to seal that, I hope, and the corner leak is in the body itself and I have JB weld that will fix that.

Leaks or no, still a very nice result!

More from the Arista Edu Ultra 200 roll

And a 'reprint' of a Medalist/Delta 100 shot from 2010

Perhaps use some black electrical tape if that is at all feasible. It's reusable for changing the film in the field.

The leaks could not be plugged with tape, the body leak was in the corner of the mounting plate, it required a plug made of JB Weld. I did both those folded corners last night and filed them back flush this morning. The other leak was in the advance knob cover plates, I added extra seal yarn to the pocket and mounted a seal on the cover itself that should seal that up.
I have another roll in it at the moment and as soon as I get that out and processed, I will be able to see if I did in fact get them all this time.

It is frustrating, but this is such a cool and well built camera, getting it fixed and smooth will be well worth it. :-)

OK, I am happy! I processed the test roll from the AVUS last night and scanned it this morning.

This was first shot on the roll.

: Still not happy, with the ground glass attempt. I will be ordering one that will hopefully work better.

This was a snapshot outside 2nd to last shot. The coloration is what was scanned. (I scan my B/W as color negs) I just bumped the saturation and dropped the lightness and bumped contrast then a sharp)

Last shot on the roll. I have no idea why this one lacks the blue sky, but I love the coffee tone!
What I REALLY love is that there is absolutely no evidence of light leakage!

I now have the Avus loaded with Ektar 100. YUMMY!

Mike, that's exciting, often the effort to get there with these oldsters is a big part of the fun and satisfaction! I look forward to the Ektar shots.

This is Tri-X in Rodinal 1+75, Komura 35/2.8 on a Bessa R.

That's a really rare lens isn't it?

Well, it isn't common; I do see a few now and then. I have to do some color to check out the Komura Kolors

Same lens, same camera, Tri-X + Rodinal 1+75

Very cool! I know you can't do a direct comparison*, but how do you think the Komura compares to the Jupiter-12 38/2.8?

I'm curious how they compare as well.
The Komura is retro-focus isn't it?

Yes, which means I can use it with a metered camera such as the Bessa R.

Steve, some time maybe I send it to you to make the comparison? I do have a J-12 in Contax mount, and a Contax Nex adapter, but I doubt the lens will fit...
