Very first pictures with the pentax MX, and first time doing the develop entirely by myself!

tmax 100, self made D76 down to 1:1, vinegar stop, 1:3 cheap clone fixer.

Congrats. I like the first one. I once had a little booklet on open source developer formulas. But I don't know where it is lately.

I also quite like your first photo. And the developing turned out great, some very nice tones and fine grain you've got going there!

Thanks, as for the process, I did

1:1 D76 at 20.C, 9', with 5" shaking every 25" (so I did 5" shake everytime the clock was :00 or :30).
Four rinses water/vinegar mix, didn't measure it.
fix 3:1 (wasn't any brand, was made up there in class, for 10', and shaked every 1'.
10' bath with water/detergent.

I know I will be told to start exploring other formulas, times, so I can see changes in contrast and overall look but how good this turned out, I think I will keep it as a model guide in order to achieve different sequences.

I'd recommend shooting the same film and using the same developer for some time to really get a handle on it if you're liking the results. It's good to have a go-to setup you can count on.

And I'll go out on a limb and say film/developer combos are less significant in a figital workflow than with wet printing on graded papers. You have so much fine control over the contrast curve in the image editor it makes up for a lot. Of course, YMMV.

I definitely agree, tuco. Digital processing can still do a lot with your film shots. However I think it's still a good thing to 'get it right' the first time 'round. Good tip on using the same combo for a while, it definitely takes some time to really get the feel for it.

From a month ago on Mt Rainier.
Plus-X 125 in KX with Pentax 55mm/1.8 and red filter (the first two) and Vivitar 24mm/2.8 (the other two).
Developed by lab, scanned at home.

One other night shot turned out sharper, but this one is more interesting. I'm kind of amazed that the mountain is blurred while the star trails look more-or-less "correct". The camera must have very gradually and evenly shifted position over the 5-minute exposure, probably as the snow that it was sitting on melted.

frankfrank: that last shot of the mountain is really cool! Can't imagine how that happened.

The aqueduct in Segovia. KX + Fomapan 100 (disguised as Lomo 100 B&W). I think I used the Sigma 24/2.8, my widest lens.

This is my very first photo that I shot with my Pentax KX. I used Lomography B&W lady grey film 400 ISO.

Those are good KX shots... my first roll ~6 years ago gave me one of the better pics I've ever taken:

KX, Ilford XP2, SMC-A 28/2.8 -- I metered for the sunlit pavers
