Yeah I’ve always liked Bellingham, been going there since the 1970’s. The downtown is interesting and doesn’t seem to change much over the years, which is a good thing. The university is also in a nice setting and its fun to walk around.

It’s an easy trip from Vancouver, if the border lineups aren’t too bad. La Conner is also a favorite.

Got two new (to me) rangefinders recently; a Canon Canonet 28, and a Minolta Hi-Matic E. Planning to get out Saturday and use up some T-Max 100 with them. July 4th I used some Kentmere 100 in a Contax SLR; lots of scratches and dust marks (and drying marks) on the prints and scans but not the negatives ; I'm going back to the lab I used this spring). The Canon's light seals aren't too good, but a test roll of color came out swell.

The Seventh Seal

Hovs Hallar - rock formations in South-Western Sweden.

Some may recognize this rocky beach from the opening scene of Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal". I have tried to emulate the film noire look with filters and (slight) underexposure.
In the film, the scene is meant to be at sunrise, but as the beach is facing west, it is in fact filmed at sunset. This shot was taken late in the day, but still several hours before sunset.
Camera: Pentax 645N
Lens: smc Pentax-FA 645 75mm F2.8
Exposure: 1/250 @ F11 (circ.pol. + orange filter)
Film: Kodak Tri-X 400 dev. in D-76 1:3
