I think the black band is just a scanning area, or it could be that the camera's spacing is not very accurate.
Thanks guys, I also think it was the scanning, but being the camera sold as defective (btw it earned a bad reputation at the time in terms of reliability) I'm not that sure.
It's an interesting and very sophisticated camera, little known at its time, but I like the idea of a completely mechanical system camera like the Canon F-1 and Nikon F2 with Pentax bayonet (why hasn't Pentax made them?),this is the second specimen I own, the other hasthe excellent and dear Volna 50mm f1.8 that sometimes I also use on my Pentax bodies.
