One of my favourite subjects for photography here in Spain is rural decay (as opposed to the more common urban decay). There are a lot of old abandoned buildings in the Spanish countryside and I find they make good anchors for a photo, especially with a pleasant landscape around them. Perhaps these would have been better on colour film, but I'll never know...

These were taken in my MX on Adox Silvermax film, the only roll I have of that. It seems like good stuff. Most or all were taken with the M 35mm f/2.

I like this composition a lot.
What do you think of adding some contrast via a tone curve adjustment?

Thanks Colton. I added some contrast, but it does look rather flat compared to other images on this page, especially at this size.

I think it has great tonal qualities, but a little more deep blacks and bright whites would really set it off.

Congrats. I have the Caltar-S II 210/5.6 which is a Schneider lens. I believe your version is a Rodenstock. They make for some good buys since some people don't like the rebranding I guess.

I use to hike my 4x5 around some but not much anymore. These days any pictures from that camera follow a pattern. They are within close proximity of a car, of things that don't move and nothing spontaneous. And that's why it stays home a lot I suppose. And if you find tray developing a bit tedious after a while, you can daylight tank develop 4x5 sheet film. I've had fine success doing it that way for a long time now.

Beautiful shots! Great tone and contrast. Did you shoot using a 135mm and filter? Thanks.

Thanks vinceloc,

I used FA77 and FA 28-90 (came with the ZX-L), no filter was attached.

Yes, the II-N is supposed to be a rebranded Sironar-N. I've also got a 135mm II-N on the way.

Even with small or medium format I generally work from a tripod, so this isn't slowing me down by orders of magnitude. Of course it's new to me so I'm enjoying the learning part. But I can see where tray development could get old. Although at the moment it is the film washing I'm finding most tedious, so I'm on the lookout for one of those siphoning washing tanks.

I've seen the video of your agitating tank -- crazy cool.

Thanks. In this picture below taken with my 4x5 you can see the rectangle HP Combi tank I use for my sheet film. I use that tank because it adapts well to the AgOmatic machine. It holds 4 sheets and is pretty easy to use. Its biggest disadvantage is the slow fill and drain times due to the small spouts. It has a second spout on the lower end out of view. But otherwise it gets the job done. It is really good for washing too. I think they have been discontinued though. I picked up 3 of them back when just in case and now I'm glad I did. And I think it's time to retake this shot over again.
